In Spring, Ireland’s West is covered in a lush green coat, and Doolin is no exception. The months of April through June mark the beginning of the touristic season, as the weather becomes milder and wildflowers paint the landscape in many vivid colours.
Spring is also the ideal time to explore the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark, the unique limestone landscape transforms into a floral wonderland during these months and traditional music scene comes alive in the pubs, providing an authentic Irish experience for visitors.

The Cliffs of Moher & Doolin Cliff Walk
- Visit the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher (from the water) with Doolin Ferry Co.
- Enjoy a stunning sunset at the Doolin Cliff Walk.
- Spot Puffins in Ireland along the Cliffs of Moher and the Doolin Cliff Walk (year-round, but best to see them in May/June as they puffins returning to nest along the cliffs.

The Burren

Spring is the ideal time to explore the Burren in colour and admire Ireland’s wildflowers!
The Burren offers a unique and picturesque landscape at any time of the year, but spring adds these vibrant colours that make it even more stunning. Regional sports events:
The Burren region, as well as our neighbour the Aran Islands, are hosts to a number of sports events every year. Here are some of the upcoming regional sports events:
Inis Oírr Wild Atlantic Island Run – 5 April 2025
A 5km & 10km road race to raise funds for Coláiste Ghobnait, the secondary school on Inis Oírr. Doolin Ferry Co. provides easy access from Doolin.
Cliffs of Moher Cycle Challenge 2025 – 12th April 2025
The route takes in a Tour of North Clare: 125K, 80K, and 40K routes are available.
Clare Burren Marathon Challenge – 24th May 2025
Starting on the seafront in Ballyvaughan, Co.Clare with a Full marathon, Half marathon & 10km run/walk.
Tour de Burren 2025 – 21st June 2025
A cycling sportive around the beautiful Burren. The 2025 routes are currently being developed, in 2024 routes ranged from 22-160K.

Irish Music Festivals:
The Consairtín takes place from 24-27 April in Ennis, celebrating the role of the concertina in traditional music. Tickets and a full programme can be found here.
The Kilfenora Traditional Music Festival from 25-28 April. More information can be found here.
The 2025 Fleadh Nua takes place from 24 May – 02 June in Ennis. A vibrant and dynamic celebration or Irish Music, packed with concerts, céilís, music sessions, CD launches, recitals, sean-nós dancing, and lively street performances. More information and the programme can be found here.
